Avery Colvert, founder of Altadena Girls, was honored with the Beauty Impact Award at the 10th Hollywood Beauty Awards for her compassionate and community-driven response following the Eaton Canyon fires.
Actress Becky G lit up the stage to present the Beauty Impact Award, celebrating Avery’s unwavering dedication to turning beauty into a force for recovery and hope.
The black-tie Hollywood Beauty Awards benefitted Helen Woodward Animal Center, honoring excellence in hair, makeup, photography, and styling across film, television, music, red carpet, and editorial platforms, along with special honorees.
When devastating wildfires struck Los Angeles in January, 8th grader Avery Colvert launched Altadena Girls to support those affected by the Eaton Canyon Fire.
With the help of volunteers, public figures, brands and even the Hollywood Beauty Awards community of artists, Avery’s vision came to life in less than 24 hours. Altadena Girls became a safe space for self-care; with makeup, haircare and more for the teen girls impacted.
What began as a grassroots effort is now a national movement, restoring dignity, confidence, and connection for girls facing loss or hardship.
Today, the organization is evolving with a flagship community space, prioritizing mental health through workshops, mentorship, and therapeutic programs; cultivating an environment where girls are empowered—not just as survivors, but as leaders, creators and changemakers.
Avery and Altadena Girls have proven that beauty is not just seen, but felt in the support we give and the lives we uplift.
