The 97th Academy Awards, held on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated the best in filmmaking over the past year. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony was filled with standout moments, emotional and long speeches, as well as historic wins.
Anora emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director for Sean Baker, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison.
Meanwhile, Adrien Brody’s powerful performance in The Brutalist earned him the Best Actor award, and Zoe Saldaña made history with her Best Supporting Actress win for Emilia Pérez. The night also saw major technical achievements from films like Dune: Part Two and Wicked, which excelled in visual effects, sound, and production design.
