The annual Hollywood Beauty Awards (HBAs) will celebrate a decade of honoring the architects of beauty at the 10th HBAs on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Avalon Hollywood.
The HBAs recognize talent in hair, makeup, photography and styling for Film, TV, Music, the red carpet and editorial, as well as special honorees.
Today, the HBAs announced that Davis Factor will be honored with Outstanding Achievement in Photography at the 10th ceremony.
Mark Seliger, Timothy White, Norman Seef, Bobby Holland and the late Douglas Kirkland are among the past HBA Photography honorees.
Davis Factor, the great-grandson of cosmetics legend Max Factor, is a renowned photographer, entrepreneur, and creative visionary. He developed his craft at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena before working with the Paris Fashion Group and Industria SuperStudio.
In 1990, Davis and his brother Dean founded Smashbox Studios, followed by the launch of Smashbox Cosmetics in 1996 and Photogenics Media in 2002. As Chief Creative Worldwide of Smashbox Cosmetics, Davis oversees brand development, creative advertising, and global partnerships. Under his leadership, Smashbox grew into a globally recognized brand and was later acquired by Estée Lauder in 2010.
Having earned four Clio Awards for his innovative work, Davis’ photography portfolio includes high-profile figures from Kobe Bryant to Cindy Crawford, Robert Downey Jr., Idris Elba, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Pamela Anderson and more. With work featured in international campaigns, covers and editorial spreads for Condé Nast, as well as major fashion brands, his 2015 Thomas Wylde campaign starring Poppy Delevingne was named one of the year’s top campaigns by Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
Factor’s career highlights are showcased in his book Make S#!+ Happen, which spans three decades of impactful photography.
Factor will accept Outstanding Achievement in Photography at the black-tie ceremony on Sunday, April 6, 2025 benefitting Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Just last week, the HBAs announced Academy Award winner Janty Yates as the 2025 Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design honoree. Additional Honorees will be announced shortly. Nominee voting will open to the public on Monday, February 10th until Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
