The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France has officially re-opened.
Paris Archbishop Laurent Ulrich was joined by world leaders, including President-elect Donald Trump, who celebrated the glorious re-opening of the Gothic masterpiece. President Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ahead of the reopening ceremony.
The cathedral was devastated by a fire in April of 2019. The entire world looked on in disbelief, the roof framework and spire of Notre-Dame de Paris erupted into a blazing inferno, before vanishing from the Paris skyline altogether, as written on the cathedral’s official website.
It took five years for the restoration of the structure, which originally took nearly two centuries to build.
Macron welcomed 1,500 dignitaries, including US first lady Jill Biden and Britain’s Prince William.
Notre Dame has release a book called Rebuilding Notre-Dame de Paris, which tells the story of the cathedral’s five years of restoration.
