Phantogram Electrifies At Kia Forum

Phantogram opened for Kings of Leon at the Kia Forum this week.

Their performance was an electrifying display of musical and visual artistry that left the audience utterly captivated. From the moment Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter took the stage, the atmosphere in the Forum was alive, buzzing with an energy that only intensified as the night progressed.

Opening with “Don’t Move” from their 2011 Nightlife EP, Phantogram immediately set the tone for the entire night.  As the lights pulsed in time with the music, it felt as if the entire venue had been transformed into a living, breathing art installation, each beat and flash of light adding to the sense that the audience was part of something larger than life.

The crowd was completely taken with the performance, especially during fan favorites like “Fall In Love” and “Black Out Days,” where the combination of Barthel’s soaring vocals and Carter’s innovative guitar work created a soundscape that was both haunting and exhilarating. The addition of “Happy Again,” performed for just the third time ever, was a standout moment that highlighted Phantogram’s continuous evolution while staying true to their signature style.

Throughout their 45-minute set, the band expertly balanced older hits with fresh material, showcasing their unique blend of glitch-pop and electro-rock. The synergy between the music and the dynamic stage energy between the band members created a captivating visual narrative that enhanced every song, making the performance as much a feast for the eyes as it was for the ears.

Phantogram’s set at the Kia Forum was more than just a concert—it was an immersive experience that energized the crowd and left a lasting impression.

Their ability to fuse high energy with intricate, ethereal melodies reaffirmed their status as one of the most dynamic live acts in the indie-electronic scene today.
