After 25 years of rescuing and rehabilitating farmed animals and inspiring people around the world, The Gentle Barn announced an evening celebrating its accomplishments: “Twilight Tails: A Soiree of Rescues and Renewal,” on Aug. 24, 2024 at 6pm, at 15825 Sierra Highway, Santa Clarita, CA.
The Gentle Barn is a national 501c3 nonprofit farmed animal sanctuary, dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused and neglected animals, has locations in California, Tennessee, and Missouri, and a mission of inspiring kindness and compassion towards animals, our planet, and each other.
The Gentle Barn was founded in 1999 by visionary animal healer and author Ellie Laks, who soon after joined forces with cofounder-CEO, business builder, and animal rescuer Jay Weiner, to vastly expand the mission. Together, Ellie and Jay, along with their amazing staff, volunteers and Board, have grown the sanctuary, which started in Ellie’s backyard, into a national nonprofit foundation with four sanctuaries in three states. The Gentle Barn has over 4.5 million followers with 147 million video views this year alone across social media platforms. Over the past 25 years, The Gentle Barn has rescued, healed and placed thousands of animals and in turn healed humans who visit from all walks of life through innovative programs, including Cow Hug Therapy and Equine Therapy, along with field trips, private tours, and weekly open-to-the-public Sundays. This year, The Gentle Barn is also celebrating another huge milestone: 1 million visitors!
