The hot ticket this summer will undoubtedly be the Oxnard Salsa Festival when it returns to its hometown the weekend of July 27-28 after a five-year break.
Both Saturday and Sunday will be filled with a stellar lineup of live music, delicious food, refreshing beverages, and an eclectic selection of craft and retail vendors. And since the festival is celebrating all things “Salsa”, festivalgoers will be able to taste spicy samples of Salsa and enjoy the rhythmic sounds of Salsa music and the fiery moves of Salsa dancing.
The popular event takes place in Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard. General Admission tickets to the Oxnard Salsa Festival start at $6.99, children 12 and under are free. Salsa Tasting Experience tickets that include festival entry, an exclusive shaded area, and salsa tasting from local and national salsa vendors, are $19.99. All tickets provide full access to food, beverage and marketplace vendors, and live entertainment. VIP and group seating tickets will also be available. The Oxnard Salsa Festival premiered in 1993 and is presented by the Oxnard Downtowners. It features the region’s top salsa and Latin Jazz bands, marketplace shopping, two international food courts, a kid’s play zone with rides, a salsa tasting tent, and non-stop salsa dancing. The festival takes place in coastal Oxnard, the largest city in Ventura County, situated along scenic Pacific Coast Highway. Downtown Oxnard enjoys year-round Mediterranean weather and is just five minutes away from Channel Islands Harbor and Mandalay Beach. It is adjacent to the Henry T. Oxnard National Historic District, home to City Hall, the Oxnard Transit Center, and Heritage Square—a block of beautifully restored early 1900’s homes and buildings.
