Padma Lakshmi celebrated her upcoming collaboration with Bare Necessities this week at the Crosby Street Hotel. The Emmy-nominated producer, best-selling author, and activist was joined by editors, influencers, industry tastemakers and the Bare Necessities team including Pam Rice, Chief Merchandising Officer.
Padma x Bare Necessities, the brand’s first-ever collaboration, is launching on June 6th and is an exclusive collection of lingerie, loungewear, and swimwear dedicated to empowering women at every stage of life.
Informed by her longtime love of lingerie, Padma infuses into any wardrobe the rich textures, intricate prints and mix of influences she’s gathered across the globe. From edgy bras and swimsuits to the dreamiest loungewear and coolest cover-ups, each piece knits together her insights from a life spent seeking. Because confidence comes from feeling at home where you are.
“Lingerie is such a personal, intimate part of one’s wardrobe, and I’ve certainly gathered a lot of ideas for how I’d build a collection over the years. I’ve modeled a lot of lingerie in my career, and I’m very particular about what works and what doesn’t work. When Bare Necessities approached me with the idea, I thought this would be a fun, creative challenge. I wanted a nice mix of everyday staples, as well as a couple of pieces that felt a little dressier and sexy,” Padma said.
For the construction, Padma worked alongside the specialists at Bare Necessities to create what best suits a variety of shapes.
