With their backs against the wall, the Dallas Mavericks staved off elimination, avoiding a sweep with a 119-109 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Luka Doncic led the way with 30 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists and the Mavericks got going from deep, shooting 20 of 43 (46.5 percent) from 3-point range.
The Warriors, who trailed by as many as 29 points, cut the deficit to eight points in the fourth but couldn’t get over the hump. Stephen Curry scored a team-high 20 points but did so on 7-of-16 shooting. As a team, Golden State struggled mightily until the final frame, where reserves Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and Jordan Poole played a large role in the attempted comeback.
Game 5 is Thursday at the Chase Center in San Fransisco.
