Actor Willie Garson Dies At Age 57 After Battling Cancer

Willie Garson, the actor best known for his role as Carrie Bradshaw’s best male friend, Stanford Blatch, on the hit HBO series “Sex and the City,” has died. He was 57, according to reports. Garson was battling pancreatic cancer.

Garson was also known for his role as the con man Mozzie in the TV show “White Collar.” With over 30 films, including the SATC sequels and the upcoming "And Just Like That," the actor worked with the Farrelly brothers in some of their films, including “Kingpin” (1996), “There’s Something About Mary” (1998) and “Fever Pitch” (2005).

His son said in a social media statement, "I love you so much papa. Rest In Peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own. You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now. You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared you’re love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it."

Garson served on the advisory board for You Gotta Believe, an organization that helps find permanent families for young people. He became a parent in 2010 when he adopted Nathen, who was 7 at the time.
