Britney Spears accepting Fragrance of the Year at 2018 Hollywood Beauty Awards
After 13 long years and a battle with the court, Britney Spears is finally free from the conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears.
Spears said on Instagram: Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy ❤️ !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen
The pop stars' attorney Mathew Rosengart said a "safety net" will be put in place for Britney Spears' finances and personal care after a Los Angeles judge terminated her conservatorship Friday.
So, what happens now?
According to the judge, assets will now be transferred from Spears' temporary conservator to the singer's trust. A medical evaluation will not be required for Spears, according to the judge.
The next court dates are scheduled for Dec. 8 and Jan. 19. In January, the parties will discuss a petition for substituted judgment, according to the judge.
