Mayor Eric Garcetti today announced that all City of Los Angeles fixed and mobile vaccination sites will participate in the Countywide sweepstakes that offers anyone getting their vaccines in the days ahead an opportunity to win free season tickets for the L.A. Kings or L.A. Galaxy.
To be eligible, Angelenos must receive their first dose between Friday, May 28 and Thursday, June 3, or bring someone to get their first shot when they get their second on those same dates.
"Vaccines are our ticket out of this pandemic, and we want to give Angelenos every incentive to be a part of defeating COVID-19," said Mayor Garcetti. "Today, the Governor entered all vaccinated Californians into a statewide lottery, and Los Angeles is sweetening the pot. The more people who receive their shots, the closer we get to a full recovery — so I encourage everyone to get in the game, show up to our vaccination sites, and help us to win the fight against this virus."
"We have many partners working tirelessly to improve vaccination coverage, including our wonderful sports teams and event venues who are helping to encourage those not yet protected to get informed and vaccinated," said Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, MEd, Director of Public Health. "Thanks to the generosity of the Los Angeles Kings and the Los Angeles Galaxy teams and their deep commitment to getting us all safely to the end of the pandemic, one lucky pair will be able to watch all of these teams' home games live and in person next season."
Eligible Los Angeles County residents who are 18 or older can enter to win a pair of 2021-22 season tickets to the Los Angeles Kings or 2022 season tickets to the Los Angeles Galaxy with prizes awarded to two Angelenos. The countywide announcement is added to the list of incentives for vaccination available for Angelenos and Californians, following Governor Newsom's announcement today that every vaccinated Californian will be entered into a lottery for the chance to win cash prizes varying in value, totaling over $116 million. Currently, vaccinations are available in L.A. County to anyone who is 12 years old or older.
Angelenos who participate will be asked to complete a form for entry into the sweepstakes. City vaccination sites offer appointment-free shots, as well as the option to pre-register online, at any of the locations below or any of the City's mobile locations:
