As part of United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ EVERYONE IN Campaign and the organization’s dedication to housing solutions for more than a decade, the non-profit will host its 12th annual HomeWalk, a 5K family run/walk to raise public awareness and funds to end homelessness. Past HomeWalk participants have totaled 100,000 and have raised $8.6 million. Over the past 11 years, United Way’s housing initiatives have transformed 45,000 lives with the stability of a home. This year, United Way has teamed up with the Los Angeles Rams to focus on our homelessness crisis and to help raise $1.5 million to house our most vulnerable neighbors. Thanks to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, every $5,000 raised by a person or team will be matched.

“Joining together for HomeWalk on May 18 is a giant step to disrupting poverty and homelessness with community education and activation. Changing stigmas and mindsets about homelessness to bring everyone in is the responsibility of everyone in Los Angeles County. Join us to raise funds and help change Los Angeles County for good. We cannot sit on the sidelines.” said Elise Buik, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Rams will be out in full force with L.A. Rams Cheerleaders, Mascot Rampage, Head Coach Sean McVay and Rams HomeWalk Team Captains, Aaron Donald (#99), Defensive Tackle, 2017 and 2018 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and five-time Pro-Bowler; Andrew Whitworth (#77), Offensive Tackle, four-time Pro-Bowler and 2018 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award nominee; and Johnny Hekker (#6), Punter, four-time Pro-Bowler.

“The Los Angeles Rams are proud to be leading the United Way HomeWalk and taking a prominent position on raising money and awareness for the greatest challenge our region faces,” said Kevin Demoff, COO of the Rams. “Since our return to Los Angeles, we have joined forces with United Way to champion building more affordable housing and providing service and support to our most vulnerable neighbors. We look forward to rallying the community behind this issue that is critical to Los Angeles’ future.”

The 12th annual HomeWalk wouldn’t be possible without support from event sponsors including: Presenting Sponsors: Conrad N. Hilton Foundation (Fundraising Match Sponsor), EVERYONE IN, Los Angeles Rams; VIP Sponsors:  Annenberg Foundation, Anthem Blue Cross; and Major Sponsors: ACCO Engineered Systems, AEG, JPMorgan Chase & Co., SoCalGas, Starbucks, Torrance Refining Company and UPS.

“The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation continues its commitment to ending chronic homelessness in L.A. County and has been proud to have United Way of Greater Los Angeles as a key partner in these efforts since 2009,” said Peter Laugharn, President and CEO of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

Additional appearances will be made by Superintendent Mark Ridley-Thomas, CBS 2 Sports Director Jim Hill, This is Us actor, Jon Huertas, Cameron Boyce and others.
