Michael Cohen Sentenced To Three Years In Prison

According to reports, President Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison.

Cohen plead guilty to campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying under oath to Congress.

Prior to his sentencing, Cohen said that he took "full responsibility" for the crimes.

"My own weakness was blind loyalty to the man that caused me to choose the path of darkness," he added.

In August, Cohen pleaded guilty to evading $1.4 million in taxes related to his personal businesses. Additionally, he admitted to breaking campaign finance laws in arranging payments during the 2016 election to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, both of whom claimed they relations with President Trump.

President Trump tweeted on Monday:

Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion. @FoxNews That’s because there was NO COLLUSION. So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution,… which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me). Cohen just trying to get his sentence reduced. WITCH HUNT!

Cohen is ordered to surrender March 6.
