The vibrant Hoda Kotb, co-host of the later morning "Today" show with Kathie Lee Gifford is now the co-anchor of the official "Today" show.

Just a few months after Matt Lauer was fired, Hoda will take his place at the NBC morning news desk

“It’s 2018, and we are kicking off the year right because Hoda is officially the co-anchor of ‘Today,’” anchor Savannah Guthrie said Tuesday on air. “This has to be the most popular decision NBC News have ever made, and I’m so thrilled.”

This makes Hoda and Savannah the first all-women team to co-anchor the first part of the popular morning show.

For those who enjoy the fun morning bicker between Hoda and Kathie Lee, do not fear. Hoda will continue co-hosting the fourth hour.
