Pampered in Paradise, a startup company from Indiana, working out of Fort Myers, Florida, has created a one-of-a-kind getaway retreat for breast cancer patients.
While it's a unique concept in itself, what makes this really special is they are offering this getaway package to metastatic/stage 4 breast cancer patients at no cost.
While there, they will be escorted to the beach in a princess style carriage, catered to by handsome cabana guys, given professional massages, and experience a sunset cruise. Keynote speaker and breast cancer survivor Becky Olson stated, "I have been a part of this community for more than 14 years, speaking all over the country, and have never seen anything this exciting."
While it might not cost the breast cancer patients any money, there is a slight catch to this getaway package deal. First, you'll have go to their website at www.pamperedinparadise.org and register where you will be added to a list. It's a first come basis, so the earlier you get on the list, the better the chance you'll get to attend. To cover the cost, there has been a funding account set up for donations from individuals who would want to help for this once-in-a-life time opportunity.
The following is taken from their funding page: There are many support groups and organizations to assist breast cancer survivors and that is all good. However, there is not much help available for the metastatic/stage 4 breast cancer patient. Let's start to recognize and support these women also.
It's a lonely walk. Many of these women feel like they have been forgotten. Their day to day life is filled with worries and sadness…and often fear. They have been robbed of their potential future and most have very little to look forward to. Please help us to give these women hope, inspire them to keep going, and show them that they have not been forgotten. If we don't give up on them, they won't give up on themselves!
