Makeup spotlight on Marc Jacobs Beauty Ambassador's HUNG VANNGO and ERIKA LA' PEARL
Emily Ratajkowski, 2018 Daily Front Row Fashion LA Awards Model of the Year Winner – look by Hung Vanngo, Marc Jacobs Beauty Global Artistry Ambassador
“We gave Emily a modern take on 70s hair and makeup. Her hair was effortless and wavy and for makeup, I maintained her natural tan and added a bit of dewiness with warm golden and peachy nude shades on the eyes, lips and cheeks.” – Hung Vanngo
Makeup Tips/Techniques: After prepping with skincare, Hung applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer to Emily’s skin. Next, he used a mixture of Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24-H Foundation SPF 25 in Y370 and a pump of Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Dew You? for an all-over glow. Hung followed with Marc Jacobs Beauty Remedy Concealer Pen in 4 Late Show to brighten the center of the face. He set Emily’s foundation with Marc Jacobs Beauty Perfection Powder – Featherweight Foundation in Golden Fawn 400 and added Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan in Tantric 102 along her cheekbones, forehead and jawline for warmth and definition.
For the eye makeup, Hung started by sketching Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Sunset 74, a golden bronze shimmer, across Emily’s upper and lower lash lines and the waterline. Hung then used Marc Jacobs Beauty The Crease Brush to slightly blend the lines. Next, he took Marc Jacobs Beauty The Shadow Brush to apply a wash of the eyeshadow shade “Known For” from Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition all over her upper and lower lids. Hung then applied the eyeshadow shade “Infamous” from the palette on the outer corner of her eyes to give some depth. He added a little highlight on the corner of her eyes and the brow bones with the eyeshadow shade “She Was” from the same palette. After curling Emily’s lashes, Hung applied a generous coat of Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on her top and bottom lashes.
Since Emily’s brows never need much, Hung just added a few strokes of Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Wow Defining Longwear Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown 6 where needed, and brushed them into place with Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Tamer Grooming Gel.
For the lips, Hung used one of his favorite lip colors, Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in In The Mood 152.
He tied the look together with a light pop of Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in 502 Lines & Last Night, a creamsicle/deep tangerine duo, and set Emily’s makeup with a spritz of Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist.
To complete Emily’s red carpet look, Hung made sure the body was glowing as well. He applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator to add a beautiful soft golden sheen to any exposed skin.
