With week twelve of the NFL season in the books; the playoff picture is really shaping up. But the big news is the end of the streak for 2-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning of the New York Giants. This coming Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, for the first time in 13 years, Manning will not start for the Giants. Manning, considered one of the NFL's all-time greats, will end a streak that began November 21, 2004. The Giants, who are 2-9, have struggled this season offensively and coach Ben McAdoo has been forced to make a decisison about his star quarterback. "Geno will start this week," McAdoo said in an article on the Giant's website. "Over the last five games, we will take a look at Geno (Smith), and we will also give Davis (Webb) an opportunity." Manning is ending a streak of 210 consecutive regular-season games, second only to Brett Favre's 297 on the all-time list. According to Giants.com, Manning was told he could start the games to maintain his streak, but he declined. "Coach McAdoo told me I could continue to start while Geno and Davis are given an opportunity to play," Manning said. "My feeling is if you're going to play the other guys, play them. Starting just to keep the streak going and knowing you won't finish the game and have a chance to win it is pointless to me, and it tarnishes the streak." Manning's decision to step aside graciously just solidifies an illustrious career that will surely result in an induction into the Hall of Fame. Here are the week’s results:
