With its laid-back beaches, mountains and rainforests, Kauai, the No. 2 destination, offers travelers an abundance of outdoor activities and sightseeing adventures.
The No. 3 destination, Maui, is home to romantic luxe resorts, exotic jungles and charming beaches, making it feel like a faraway paradise. The list also includes Cape Cod, No. 6, Martha's Vineyard, No. 9, and Aspen at No. 12.
For the budget-savvy traveler, U.S. News also looked at prices for accommodations, attractions and dining when rounding up the list of Best Cheap Romantic Getaways. Known for Spanish moss-lined streets and a robust dining scene, Savannah, Georgia, snags the No.1 spot, followed by Portland, Maine, at No. 2, which is highly regarded for its rustic aesthetic and inexpensive, casual dining spots. The No. 3 destination, Sedona, Arizona, draws travelers with hiking trails that showcase the area's striking red rocks.
