Cockpit Voice Recorder Recovered From Missing EgyptAir Flight 804

Egyptair flight 804On May 19th, EgyptAir flight 804 went missing, 66 passengers were on board.

The plane, which departed from Paris lost contact with radar above the Mediterranean Sea about 280 KM from the Egyptian seacoast at 02:30 am CLT as the flight was expected to arrive Cairo Airport at 03:15 am CLT.

According Egyptian investigators, the cockpit voice recorder from flight 804 has been found in the Mediterranean. A search vessel with an underwater robot has been scouring the crash site and has sent back images of wreckage.

The "black box" was damaged and had to be pulled out in several stages but its memory unit was intact, they said.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
