The 2016 “MTV Video Music Awards” aired live from New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden for the first time ever on Sunday.
Performers included The Chainsmokers, Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Future and Video Vanguard recipient Rihanna.
This year the VMAs had comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele introduce the world to @TheShamester and @LizardSheeple as ensemble hosts. They were joined by comedians Jay Pharoah and Nicole Byer, as well as music producer DJ Khaled for commentary.
From Britney Spears to Beyonce, the stars took the stage to perform their 2016 hits. Rihanna also performed throughout the night before accepting the Vanguard Video Award.
