Talk-Show Pioneer Joe Franklin Dies At Age 88

Nicknamed “The King of Nostalgia,” veteran TV and radio personality Joe Franklinhas passed away at the age of 88, according to reports. 

Franklin has been noted as a pioneer in the TV talk-show realm. The Joe Franklin Show aired from 1950 to 1993, seeing guests from Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Vincent Price and Andy Warhol to Tiny Tim, Madonna, Woody Allen and Julia Roberts.

The show made a mark winning the Guinness World Record for Longest Running Continuous On-Air TV Talk Show Host.

In addition to his talk-show, Franklin appeard as a guest on David Letterman’s late-night show, The Simpsons, Ghostbusters, etc.
