As Olympic fever heightens, here comes an entertaining version of competitive hockey that involves some housekeeping for a sweeping victory. Don’t miss the 5th Annual Broomball Championships at Downtown on Ice at Pershing Square.
Six teams of polar opposites participated in a spirited multi-week tournament at the annual “Broom Hockey Bash.” The culminating Championship match determines the victors who take home the pseudo Stanley Cup honors. Hockey aficionados need not be deprived of the on ice excitement at this FREE event that promises to be a thrill to watch, despite the rule of no checking, blocking, or hitting. With participants suited up in athletic shoes, helmets, brooms and a winning game plan, the action promises to be a spirited showcase in the quest for the coveted trophy prize.
