Gone Too Soon: James Gandolfini Dies At Age 51

James Gandolfini

The role that made him famous: Tony Soprano. We loved to hate him (some just loved to love him). Playing a mob boss killer brought James Gandolfini countless fans. Today we learned that the beloved actor died earlier on Wednesday June 19th in Italy. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack. Gandolfini was 51…

Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily. He was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino. We first fell for Gandolfini’s talent when he played the hitman in the 1993 “True Romance,” written by Quentin Tarantino. 1999 marked the moment he became a Hollywood star when he was cast as Tony Soprano in HBO’s “The Sopranos.” He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show’s 6 season run. More recently he appeared in “Zero Dark Thirty.”

We will always remember James Gandolfini. His work has touched as all.
