“American Idol” alumni Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks, along with Grammy-Award winning singer Ashanti, play themselves as judges on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” Wednesday, November 6, 2013. The episode, “Dissonant Voices,” tells the story of a singing coach and popular TV personality who is being accused of sexual abuse by his students. “I’m playing a celebrity Judge in the ‘SVU’ world of a singing competition show called ‘American Diva’,” Ashanti explains. “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” airs Wednesdays at 8/9C on NBC.
Additionally, Ashanti is set to star as “Teanna,” a store consultant, in Lifetime’s “Christmas In The City” movie premiering December 7th at 8 pm ET/PT on the Lifetime Network. “Christmas In The City” is a part of Lifetime’s holiday programming slate, “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime.” In addition to her role Ashanti has recorded a special version of the Classic Christmas song “Let It Snow” to be used throughout the “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” campaign.
