NBC Sports made a bold move over the off-season by picking up exclusive rights to all English Premier League (EPL) soccer games.
With the start of the new EPL season this past weekend, it looks like the cable sports channel made a great decision. With three live matches on Saturday: Liverpool v Stoke City and Arsenal v Aston Villa on NBCSN, followed by Swansea City v Manchester United on NBC, the matches averaged a 500,000 and a 67% increase over last year’s openers on ESPN and Fox Soccer.
