Pepsi Co. has taken the cake for paying the most obscene amount of money for a celebrity endorsement. They will pay $50 million to Beyonce for being their brand ambassador. Is she worth that amount of money? Yes. Does she deserve $50 million? No. Forbes reported as of May 2012, the singing sensation earned $40 million this year. Chanel didn’t even pay Brad Pitt more than $10 million to back the fragrance. Beyonce’s multi-year deal with Pepsi supposedly includes standard advertising, such as commercials and print ads as well as a “fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects.” According to the Times, these projects are as of yet undefined. That big of a paycheck is shocking.
