Whether you believe it is staged or not, this whole Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey beef could be a blessing in disguise for the American Idol producers. Especially when you realize that the ratings-challenged franchise is on its last legs. Who knew that putting two egomaniacal women together on a judge’s panel would set off World War III? Maybe I exaggerate a little, but the point is made. There is more to gain by letting this feud build than to quell it. It probably did start as just a tiff between a veteran diva and a newly-christened one, but someone saw the potential for scandal (which we all know sells everything), and decided to let the chips fall where they may. After all; who doesn’t like a good chick fight?
