Interscope Geffen A&M Welcomes A New Prez

john janick

John Janick, co-founder of the indie label Fueled By Ramen, has joined Interscope Geffen A&M, a division of industry giant, Universal Music Group, as President and COO. Before coming on board with Interscope, Janick spent sixteen years running FBR, the label he originally founded in his dorm room at 18 years old at the University of Florida. At the helm of FBR, he signed well-known hit-makers such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Panic! at the Disco and fun. Additionally, since 2009, Janick was concurrently acting as co-president of Elektra Records, which he relaunched with the success of artists Bruno Mars and Cee Lo Green

Jimmy Iovine, Chairman and CEO of Interscope, said of Janick, “He’s exactly what we needed at this time. Everything he accomplished at Fueled By Ramen reminded me of the early days of Interscope. Combine that with John’s experience running a bigger company at Elektra, and it makes him the perfect fit for us.”

Janick has left his offices in New York behind, relocating to Los Angeles for his new position, where he will be working at Interscope’s offices in Santa Monica.
