Discovered on YouTube only four years ago, the master of top 10 hits, Justin Bieber, continues to dominate the video uploading website. Posted only four days ago, Bieber’s newest song, “Beauty And A Beat,” featuring the eccentric rapper, Nicki Minaj, has already gotten over 25 million views. Recorded like a happy pop version of the “found footage” style popularized by horror films, this music video shows the Canadian-born superstar singing and dancing his way through a nighttime party set in a water park.
Aside from the not-so-subtle Just Dance 4 Wii game product placement, this video has all the elements that give it the potential for unprecedented views: a pop icon, an immensely popular and unconventional rapper, tons of young people partying in bikinis, and of course a good beat.
