There it goes… off into the sunset without any captain. That’s right, it’s more bad luck for Carnival Cruise Lines. The ship company can’t get a break these days. First the crash, then no power and stranded… and now its just drifting away. High winds between 35 to 65 mph caused a disabled ship to dislodge and sail away from its dock in Mobile, Alabama. U.S. Coast Guard officials say tug boats are working to stabilize the cruise ship.
Crews have also been searching for a shipyard worker who went missing when a guard shack was blown into the water by the storng winds. As of 5PM Wednesday, Carnival Cruise Lines spokesman Vance Gulliksen said the Triumph was secured and is expected to be moved to the Mobile Cruise Terminal. The ship was disabled and towed into port in February when an engine fire stranded thousands of passengers onboard for days in the Gulf. Maybe it just wanted to go for a cruise around the bend?
