Will It Be The Death Penalty For James Holmes?

Almost one year since James Holmes shot and murdered 12 people at a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora Colorado July of 2012; the prosecution is moving forward. They intend to seek the death penalty against Holmes.

“For James Eagan Holmes, justice is death,” Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler said during a court hearing Monday.

The trial is scheduled to begin August 5th. Brauchler consulted with the families of the victims before announcing the goal in seeking capital punishment.

According to The Post, Judge William Sylvester reassigned the case to another judge, Carlos Samour, citing the added time required for a death penalty case. 25 year-old Holmes offered to plead guilty in exchange for a life sentence in prison.
