After they revealed their summer plans to headline the Alabama’s Hangout Fest, Tennessee’s Bonnaroo, and Delaware’s Firefly Festival, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers followed up today with yet another announcement. The iconic rock and roll group will be foregoing their usual stadium shows in favor of playing intimate venues in select cities starting this spring. The crown jewels of this small tour are New York City’s Beacon Theatre and Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre where they will be taking up residencies almost a dozen nights collectively. Setting up shop for six shows at L.A.’s 1,300 capacity club, it’s possible fans will get a chance to hear new music off of the band’s still untitled album due out some time in 2014.
