FRIDAY 12/28
Where: The Coach House (San Juan Capistrano)
This Friday an L.A. homegrown rap act is coming back to the SoCal area. Mickey Avalon is a real example of a musician turning their pain and suffering into artistic expression. Growing up with a truly rough home life filled with drugs and other illicit activities, Avalon has transformed his less-than-sunny past into lyrics. His (shirtless) stage performances are always intense, so come prepared to witness some musical passion and force at The Coach House.
Where: StageIt.com
Usually catching a great concert in Los Angeles means leaving your house. But, you don’t actually have to go anywhere this Friday if you want to see Tyler Hilton play. StageIt.com will be airing a live performance from the singer/songwriter that will stream to anywhere with an internet connection. The website also lets you interact with the performer through web chat, and there’s even a way to virtually tip the artist if you’re so inclined. Past performers have opted to play from their studios, kitchens and even babies’ rooms, making this a fantastic way to get an inside glimpse into a musician’s life.
SUNDAY 12/30
Where: Club Nokia
Sunday Downtown’s Club Nokia is being taken over by the popular rap duo responsible for the sultry tune, “Representin,” Ludacris and Kelly Rowland. Luda has been around long enough to know what it takes to put on a good show, so this should definitely be a class-act performance. Who knows, you might just get a sneak peak of what to expect from his 8th studio album, “Ludaversal” set to drop in 2013. Get your tickets early because they double in price the day of the performance.
