On Saturday, December 14th, the Simin Hope Foundation joined forces with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for their annual holiday tradition of the Winter Wonderland & Toy Giveaway.
Thousands of children and their families attended the 10th anniversary tradition this weekend in Harvard Park where they enjoyed a three-lane snow slide, a petting zoo, icee machines and more.
From actors to singers and all-star athletes, special guests included Romeo Miller, Ray J, Omar Gooding, Miguel Nunez Jr., Torrei Hart, 2x NBA + former Laker Champion D. J. Mbenga and more.
Alik Bulan, recording artist hailing from Africa and record label owner Max Konan joined in helping children choose their favorite toys. Kids chose from bicycles, hover boards, skateboards, stuffed animals, toy trucks and beyond.
DJ Tye Anderson hyped the crowd as Santa Claus himself introduced the host of the festivities, Simin Hope Foundation founder Simin Hashemizadeh.
Mickey Mouse and more danced on stage as LAPD officers kicked off the event alongside Simin. As children picked out toys, performances occurred throughout the day, including songs from Izaiah Clemente and Rylin Clemente of Zae & Chae.
LAPD officers and their beautiful horses from the 77th Street Community Police Station and the Mounted Platoon joined the celebrations which took over the entire park.
Inspired by the philanthropic efforts of entrepreneur and philanthropist, Simin Hashemizadeh, the annual Winter Wonderland & Toy Giveaway is a long-standing partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and Council District 8, who share a commitment to creating safer, stronger communities.
The CSP program at Harvard Park, which launched in 2017, exemplifies relationship-based policing, fostering trust and collaboration between residents and officers.
The Simin Hope Foundation aims to give back to disadvantaged communities. Hosting annual holiday toy giveaways for the past decade, from Compton to North Hollywood, SHF works in association with the Los Angeles Police Department. https://www.siminhopefoundation.org/
