Sign Up For LA Tri-Series Turkey Triathlon Thanksgiving Week

The LA Tri-Series will be hosting its third and final event of the series on Nov. 24. The third race, referred to as the Turkey Tri, is the only triathlon happening in California as Thanksgiving week kicks off. The event stands out in the landscape of Turkey Trots, which will rule racing throughout the holiday week. The Turkey Tri will offer an alternative for beginner and elite athletes looking to amp up their holiday racing with the addition of swimming and cycling.

Registration for the event is currently open.

“Thanksgiving is the most popular day for running in the U.S., and many folks make getting out there and getting some exercise a part of their holiday traditions,” said Mike Bone, President and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, which produces the LA Tri-Series. “The Turkey Tri is the perfect opportunity to add some new challenge to that tradition. New and experienced triathletes will have a great experience participating with us, and we look forward to kicking off the holiday week with them.”

The Turkey Tri will also include five other races for participants to choose from, which include the following options:

  • Super Sprint Triathlon: 300M swim, 12K bike ride and 5K run
  • Super Sprint AquaBike: 300M swim, 12K bike ride
  • Championship Triathlon: 1K swim, 34K bike ride and 10K run
  • Championship AquaBike: 1K swim, 34K bike ride
  • Championship – Duathlon: 5K run, 34K bike ride and 10K run

The LA Tri-Series has taken place in Bonelli Park since its inaugural event. This location provides new triathletes an opportunity to participate in an open-water swim in a safe environment, to cycle on a safe route with little traffic and to run a well-supported, scenic course. For those with more background in the sport, the course’s elements can adapt to the specific goals of participants at all experience levels.
