For weeks I have been watching commercials on television praising a brand called Cerakote, which supposedly restores the shine to your vehicle rendering it brand new. Being the proud owner of a Lexus 300 ES which I bought 21 years ago, and is still in mint condition, with less than 100,000 miles, I decided to give a try to these purported miraculous products. The question was does Cerakote really work?
As usual, I began by gathering as much information about the company as possible. I found out that it started 35 years ago through NIC Industries, Inc. Their vision was to manufacture coating products that would achieve a global impact. In fact, NIC has become the industry’s leading coating company worldwide. Distributed and sold in over 90 countries, this information obviously gave me great confidence in their product.
After reading more about it, I found out that CERAKOTE®, PRISMATIC POWDERS and PERFORMANCE MATERIALS operate as separate divisions of NIC, which has grown to be included in the top 25 largest paint and coating manufacturers in the United States. I must admit that it looked very easy to apply, so l decided to start with the CERAKOTE® Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit and the Cerakote® Rapid Ceramic Tire Coat. I figured that if those worked, the others would be a shoo-in.
The Headlight Restoration kit guaranteed that it would restore my headlights to look brand new and protect them for as long as I own my car. Starting with a clean car to make sure that the coating works, it is a simple, 30-minute process.

- (8) Step 1 – Oxidation Removing Wipes. The wipes are used to remove stubborn oxidation
- (1) Step 2 – Sanding Pommel is the tool you need for the sanding grit. Using the sanding materials, it will remove any remaining deep oxidation

- (2) Step 3 – Ceramic Coating Wipes. This is the final step.
Once finished, I could not believe the difference. Remarkable!
