This Valentine’s Day is going to be a good one for lovers… of Joey Ramone. Next Thursday, February 14th, almost 100 records from Joey’s personal collection are being auctioned off online along with some of his other possessions such as his clothing, passport, Rolodex, two guitars and even some handwritten lyrics.
Among this vast vinyl assortment are albums from the likes of Cream, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, T. Rex, the Kinks, the Human League, Toots and the Maytals and Yes. You’ll have to have some deep pockets to get your hands on these prized recods as the bar minimum bid is $500 with the expectation that the merch will go for a far higher price than that.
The auction will run for a full week, the ending on the 21st. Even if you can’t afford to snag an of these original items, Ramones fans might still enjoy sifting through the goods online and doing some wishful window-shopping.
