24 hours after tweeting that he was in mourning, because the Lakers didn’t hire Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson, Magic Johnson came out in support of new coach Mike D’Antoni. “The decision’s been made that D’Antoni is the coach so we must support him. I appreciate him reaching out to me & look forward to speaking,” Johnson tweeted. Much like realizing that your presidential candidate didn’t win the election, Lakers’ fans must accept and support the new head coach, because until further notice, he will be guiding the star-powered Lakers’ roster of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. Hopefully, he will guide them to their 17th NBA championship, but that remains to be seen. But, like Magic, most of Laker-Nation believes that management has made not one, but two mistakes in coaches in the last 12 months. Maybe it’s time to hire new management?
