The 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBAs), founded by CEO Michele Elyzabeth, took place on Sunday, October 1st at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles.
Every year, the Daytime Beauty Awards recognize science behind beauty, health and wellness; shining a light on professionals in the fields of medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD & cannabis, beauty innovation and more.
Continuing his role for the 2023 calendar year, Chaz Dean returned as Ambassador for the DBA luncheon ceremony. He took the stage with 3-month old rescue puppy ‘Woody’ from Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC). HWAC introduced ‘Woody’ and fellow rescue puppy ‘Holly’ on the red carpet. Both Holly and Woody are up for adoption, seeking their forever homes.
Jennifer Lopez presented the first honoree category Outstanding Achievement in Fitness to industry pioneer Tracy Anderson.
This year, the DBAs celebrated the beauty of robots. Former NASA scientist and creator of Theradome, Tamim Hamid co-presented The Innovation Award with Pepper the robot. Together, they presented to Elad Inbar, who founded RobotLAB. Elad and his team are responsible for teaching about bots and bringing them into schools, as well as into hospitals; where Pepper and fellow bots have made an incredible impact on helping children on the autism spectrum and patients with Dementia.
Celebrity makeup artist and brand founder, Monika Blunder presented Outstanding Achievement in Skincare to Molly Sims for her creation of YSE Beauty; a line inspired by Sims’ mother.
Jenna Elfman and Ashley Tisdale co-presented Outstanding Achievement in Aesthetics to their longtime friend and celebrity esthetician, Joanna Vargas.
Nine-time Grammy nominee, Sia twirled on stage to present Outstanding Achievement in Medicine to Dr. Ben Talei.
Former Fitness honoree and actor, Sam Asghari and NFL Superbowl Champion Ryan Clady celebrated Anthony Katz, presenting him with The Inventor’s Award for HYPERICE.
Platinum-recording artist Debbie Gibson presented Outstanding Achievement in Health to Dr. Kellyann Petrucci for her notable DKA Bone Broth.
Longtime QVC hosts, Sandra Bennett and Alberti Popaj introduced Outstanding Achievement in Color & Styling. The popular hosts brought QVC’s VP of Beauty Anna Baker and actress Ming-Na Wen to the stage. Both shared heartfelt speeches for Color & Styling honoree, Chaz Dean.
CBD and THC took the spotlight with NBA Champion John Salley presenting The Sleeping Beauty Award to Sandro Costa for Allure Global’s CBD Sleep Gummies, while comedian and actor Donnell Rawlings celebrated cannabis activism and the plant itself, presenting The Zen Award to THC Design. Marlon Coburn, CEO of the popular cannabis company accepted for THC Design.
Emmy, Tony and 11-time Grammy nominee Vanessa Williams walked on stage to her hit song “Save The Best For Last” before she presented the final award. This year’s Brand of the Year award went to BYREDO. Williams presented to her friend and President of the Americas for BYREDO, Robert Sorce.

Delola by Jennifer Lopez made their DBA premiere, serving their spritzes during the cocktail and red carpet arrivals.
Pamela Price serves as Senior Executive Producer. Otis Stokes is President, Executive and Music Producer. This year’s ceremony was directed by Joy Hubbard.
