Ron Cephas Jones, the actor best known for “This Is Us,” NBC’s hit series, has passed away at the age of 66.
According to reports, the two-time Emmy winner died from a “long-standing pulmonary issue,” his rep said Aug. 19. Ron survived by his daughter and fellow Emmy winner, Jasmine Cephas Jones, who shared a throwback pic of the two a day after the actor’s death on her Instagram Stories.
Jones portrayed ‘William Hill’ in Dan Fogelman’s ‘NBC’ drama series ‘This Is Us.’ The role earned him three consecutive ‘Primetime Emmy Award’ nominations and one win.
He appeared in innumerable small roles in TV series and telefilms since the mid-1990s. Jones is a veteran of the New York theater scene, with over 30 years of stage experience. He played ‘Richard III’ at the ‘The Public Theater.’
He was also cast in ‘Mr. Robot’ and ‘Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage.’ More recently, Jones had starred in the Apple TV+ series “Truth Be Told.”
