London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony: Who Will Really Perform?

We know it will be a big party, on the other hand, we don’t know if everyone is going to show. Rumor has it (no pun intended), that Adele will be there. We know The Spice Girls‘: Sporty, Ginger, Baby, Scary and Posh have been rehearsing quietly for this memorable evening. Paul McCartney is a go since the beginning. The Who (Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend) announced during the pre-Olympic press conference that they had been working on a special song for this occasion. Per The Telegraph, lead singer of The Kinks’ Ray Davies will perform “Waterloo Sunset.” As reported on Friday, Queen, The Pet Shop Boys & George Michael are also expected on stage. Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Muse should also be on the bill? Wouldn’t that be fab? This would make a great reunion of all the biggest names in British music that have defined the music world for the past fifty years. And, last but not least, the boy band sensation, One Direction, who debuted #1 in the US with their first album “Up All Night” should secure the world’s tween demographic.

Other highlights throughout the evening will include: March of the athletes, flags & speeches and finally… extinguishing the flame. We will all be watching!
