The 7th annual Hollywood Beauty Awards (HBAs), founded by CEO Michele Elyzabeth, took place on Saturday, March 19 at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles. The HBAs honor the architects of beauty, recognizing talent in hair, makeup, photography and styling for film, TV, music, the red carpet and editorial.
Celebrity hairstylist, Jenny Cho attended for her second nomination. This year she was up for The Frida Aradottir Hairstyling Award. Nominated in a category with Brandon Liberati and Robert Ramos, Jenny’s name was called when 2020 Hairstyling winner Marissa Marino opened the envelope and announced the winner!
Jenny Cho honed her skills at Vidal Sassoon Academy before becoming an Academy Instructor. Working with photographers from Patrick Demarchelier to Annie Leibovitz, her hairstyles are often featured in and on the covers of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Allure, InStyle and more.
Creating looks for the MET Gala, Academy Awards and the Emmys, Jenny works with Jennifer Lawrence, Anya Taylor-Joy, Carey Mulligan, HoYeon Jung, Ana de Armas, Emilia Clarke, Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst, Sandra Oh, Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Bell and more. Designing hair for campaigns with Adidas, Clé de Peau Beauté, Dior, Happy Dance, and Neutrogena; more recently, Jenny struck product partnerships with R+Co and Augustus Bader.
Award highlights include: Lizzo made a surprise appearance for Makeup winner Alexx Mayo, Laura Dern presented to longtime film hairstylist Frida Aradottir, Henry Golding announced the winner of the premiere Groomer of the Year award and presented to friend, Melissa DeZarate.
