Wine Spotlight: Tabor Hill’s Blueberry Demi-Sec

My curiosity was piqued when I received a press release alerting me to a new wine called: The Tabor Hill Blueberry Demi-Sec.

I was not aware of the Moersch Hospitality Group, which owns Tabor Hill Winery. It's well known in the southwest Michigan region for crafting innovative wines to address consumer demands. I learned that the Tabor Hill Winery is a popular destination winery and restaurant.

They timed the launch of the Blueberry Demi-Sec so as to cater to the increasingly warm weather and consumers desire to have a lighter, drinkable wine for the summer months.

To craft their new Blueberry Demi-Sec, the Tabor Hill Winery team blended fresh Michigan blueberries with their best-selling Classic Demi-Sec. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this white wine blend and blueberry wine has 12% Alcohol and 5.5% of Residual Sugar.

My personal opinion is that if you like sweet wine, then Tabor Hill Blueberry Demi-sec is for you. Similar to the quality of Cherry Wine or Porto, it is perfect as an aperitif or for dessert. But, as far as I am concerned, I would not drink it with my meal as it's too sweet.

It's the perfect wine for sweet and dry wine drinkers.

Cheers!

It is sold at the Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant, the Tasting Room in Bridgman, and online at taborhill.com.
