With the 2020 Herbalife24 Triathlon Los Angeles rescheduled to October 25, 2020 due to COVID-19, athletes from far and wide are invited to take part in a "virtual" Herbalife24 Triathlon Challenge, beginning this Sunday, May 17 – the original triathlon date.
The new event will give all athletes – registered and new participants – the chance to post results in a 5K run, a 20K bike ride, and a third fitness event of their choice. Results may be tracked over a two-week span (May 17-31) via the participants fitness app of choice, with results uploaded as a screenshot on the Active.com results page. Participants need to complete all three disciplines.
The entry fee is $20, with all proceeds going to JDRF (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). JDRF is the world's largest nonprofit funding research for type 1 diabetes (T1D), which affects more than one million Americans.
At the conclusion of the event, winners will be randomly selected to win prizes including a set of HED Carbon Fiber Bike Wheels (value of $1200).
