2020 might go down as one of the worst years in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic… but not for Los Angeles! First an NBA Championship win from the Los Angeles Lakers… and now the Dodgers win the World Series for the first time since 1988! That marks 32 whole years. Now that's a winning year!
FINAL SCORE: 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 6 of the World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Oct. 27, 2020. The Dodgers rallied in the 6th, then Mookie Betts homered to lead the Dodgers to a World Series victory.
When it comes to celebrating the WS win, the Dodgers said in a statement:
"This season was everything we believed it could be. It was just missing one thing: The best fans in baseball. While the wait for a World Championship is finally over, a celebration worthy of our great fans and the City of Los Angeles will unfortunately have to wait until it is safe to do so. We can’t wait to celebrate together!"
