Jamie Foxx, the Grammy Award® and Oscar Award® winning multi-talented actor, singer and producer with an undeniable passion for music, is set to release his fifth studio album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses on May 18th via JB Entertainment/RCA Records.
On the 15-track LP, Foxx explores the several phases of love – from the chase on “Tease” ft. Pharrell and self-reflection on the emotional ballad “In Love By Now,” to the grandeur of being in love on “Baby’s In Love” ft. Kid Ink. In addition to Pharrell and Kid Ink, other guest appearances include Chris Brown on the hook-heavy current single “You Changed Me,” Fabolous on the steamy “On the Dot,” and Wale on “Like A Drum.” While Foxx commissioned some of the best in the business as featured artists, he really shines on his own on the slow burning “Another Dose” and the album title track “Hollywood.”
Executive produced by Foxx, Breyon Prescott and Peter Edge, the album also features production by Boi-1da (Jay –Z, Nicki Minaj), Vinylz (Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Drake), Pharrell Williams and more. DJ Mustard (Kid Ink, Tinashe) lends production for “Pretty Thing” on the deluxe version.
Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses is the long awaited follow-up to Foxx’s 2010 release Best Night of My Life, which entered at #2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #6 on Top 200 charts and featured the hit singles “Fall For Your Type” ft. Drake and “Winner” ft. Justin Timberlake and T.I. Foxx’s 2008 multi-platinum selling release, Intuition, debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, #2 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and featured two Top 10 singles – the Grammy Award winning “Blame It” and “Just Like Me.” In December 2005, Jamie released his major label debut album Unpredictable, which entered at #2 on both the Billboard’s Top 200 and Current R&B Albums charts and eventually won Jamie an American Music Award in 2006 for Favorite R&B/Soul Male Artist.
