Sony Computer Entertainment America announced the North American release of inFAMOUS Second Son™, a brand new installment in the popular open-world, action-adventure inFAMOUS® franchise, available exclusively for the PlayStation®4 (PS4™) computer entertainment system. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, renowned for the critically-acclaimed inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper® series, inFAMOUS Second Son takes full advantage of the impressive processing power of the PS4 system to deliver the most realistic and impressive gameplay experience to date.
Told through the eyes of new leading character Delsin Rowe, a rebellious 24 year old Native American who unexpectedly discovers his own powers, players enjoy a diverse set of spectacular powers as they freely explore the Pacific Northwest city of Seattleand battle to take down an oppressive government force.
Utilizing the fast speed, graphics processing power and high resolution output of the PS4 system, Sucker Punch pays tribute to their hometown of Seattle, Washington with a remarkable level of visual fidelity. In native 1080p, Second Son captures the realistic weather, architecture and atmosphere of the city, complete with dynamic lighting, realistic rain and puddles, as well as local businesses and iconic landmarks. inFAMOUS Second Son also delivers an emotionally driven cinematic storyline with its ultra-realistic in-game cut scenes and character animations made possible through Sucker Punch’s advanced 3D facial motion capture techniques.
Other tech advancements include a new particle system built specifically for the PS4 hardware to create stunning visual and special effects that bring Delsin’s powers to life through hundreds of thousands of on-screen particles. Streamlined gameplay mechanics and DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller enhancements provide a fluid gameplay experience with improved accuracy and responsiveness. Contextual integration of the DUALSHOCK 4 touchpad, speaker and light bar also provides more immersive game moments.
inFAMOUS Second Son is now available exclusively for the PS4 system on Blu-ray™ disc and is also available for digital download on day one. While supplies last, a Limited Edition will be available at retail and digitally for $59.99 that contains bonus downloadable content, Cole’s Legacy. Also available in very limited quantities is the Collector’s Edition for $79.99, which includes the game with an exclusive cover, as well as a wearable replica of Delsin’s beanie, a set of pins, decals, a DUP patch, in-game vest and Cole’s Legacy DLC.
