Ten-time Grammy® Award winner Chaka Khan will join fans for a pre-birthday one hour live video chat on Google+ Hangouts on Air on Wednesday, March 19, at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT/6:00 p.m. PT. The video chat will be broadcast from the historic Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Nine of Chaka’s most loyal supporters from around the world, including Europe, South America and the United States, will conduct a question and answer session; and viewers will have the opportunity to submit questions. Chaka, who will be 61 years young on Sunday, March 23, will share new music, promote her current projects and discuss her future plans during the chat. On Tuesday, March 11, Chaka launched a merchandising contest on Facebook, where fans have the opportunity to vote on their favorite T-shirt and baseball cap design. The contest concludes on Tuesday, March 18, and Chaka will announce the winner of the merchandising contest during the video chat the next day. The winning items will be available for purchase at www.chakakhan.com and on select engagements during her Spring/Summer concert dates.
During her birthday weekend, the Centric TV Network will feature Chaka Khan on its one-hour documentary series, “Being,” on Saturday, March 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT/6:00 p.m. PT. And on her birthday, March 23, at 3:00 p.m. ET, Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Heart & Soul” channel (48) will premiere an exclusive live music performance, which will include several of her classic hits. “This time last year, I celebrated my 60th birthday and my 40th anniversary in music and entertainment,” says Chaka. “I am blessed to be celebrating another birthday. I look forward to joining my longtime supporters on this live video chat and previewing two new tracks from my upcoming release. What a great birthday present.”
