U2 To Perform At MusiCares Concert Honoring Adam Clayton

Adam Clayton, U2 musicares

The MusiCares Foundation®, an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy™ will honor Adam Clayton, bassist and founding member of U2—recipients of more awards than any rock band in GRAMMY® history—at the 13th annual MusiCares MAP Fund® benefit concert at the PlayStation Theater in New York on June 26.

Clayton will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund as well as his commitment to helping others with the addiction recovery process.

The event, sponsored in part by RBC Capital Markets, will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment.

Bono, The Edge, and Larry Mullen will join their comrade and co-founder Adam Clayton for a rare, intimate U2 performance to close the evening.

U2 joins a list of specially chosen performers, including Chronixx, Michael Franti, Jack Garratt, and The Lumineers, and GRAMMY winner Macy Gray. Cat Deeley will be the host and GRAMMY winner Hal Willner will be the evening's musical director.
